Rockguard Installation

New Airstreams come with a rockguard installed over the front windows. Not only does this rockguard protect the front windows from road debris and rocks, it also provides shade for the front of the trailer.

A search of the Airforums website revealed that they make a rockguard for vintage Airstreams. While it has been our intention to keep the trailer as close to original looking as possible, I decided that the protection that the rockguard offers is worth the tradeoff.

Here is the trailer before the rockguard installation.

The install was remarkably easy. The whole thing hangs off this rail that you install above the window.

Attach the hold down clips on the bottom and you are almost done.

Peel off the protective paper and this is what you get. I like the look.
