Bicycle, bicycle. I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike…

When we go camping we like to take our bikes. It gives us something to do, many campgrounds or resort areas have bike trails and it makes transportation around the campground easy and fun.

We also like to bring our kayaks and lawn chairs and generators and other stuff we can’t live without. The problem is hauling all this stuff with us. Last summer, our first with the new truck, we put the kayaks on the roof and the bikes in the bed of the truck, and if I remember correctly, at least one on the roof with the kayaks. This was problematic because the bikes would get scratched being in the bed, they would fall over and they simply took up too much room.

The answer? – a bike rack attached to the front of the pickup.

Here is the Yakima four bike rack attached to the front receiver.

Here is the rack loaded with bikes. Notice that at least one bike is riding pretty high. I' going to address this by lowering the seat and getting a frame adapter that will cause the bike to sit lowe and level.
